CES 2020 – there was a magician with a rabbit in his hat, but was it a rabbit or an unpredictable vision of device construction and processes optimization; a Californication playstation? We have seen a lot of upcoming trends and hot new gadgets over the past two weeks, like foldable laptops, which are supposed to please our needs. But the Kings of the Hill title goes to car construction and providing new technologies for the whole relationship between man and machine philosophy. All thanks to Mercedes-Benz, with their concept of the future car construction Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR.

Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR inspired by J. Cameron

Mercedes-Benz VISION AVTR is a concept car that was presented at CES 2020. The concept incorporates the idea to unite man, nature, and a car all in one ecosystem. Ola Kallenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars, together with Oscar winner and Avatar filmmaker James Cameron,  introduced in their speech the concept car that is formed on the base of the sci-fi film.

Remember the creatures of the planet of Pandora in the movie? Imagine the car was part of your unique ecosystem. It feels you and, moreover, it understands your needs. From the other side, you are to rely on the car and connect your soul and biorhythm with it. The connection between man and machine is a conceptual idea of the soul connection with Pandorian creatures in Avatar.

Lit Design and unique proportions

The mind-blowing design of VISION AVTR correlates to the interaction between driver and passengers. The concept combines an eco-friendly interior, exterior, and UX design. It seems like the car has become a part of Pandorian life. The specific design can be understood in different ways, but the philosophy is about recreating a unique connection with you and the “Tree of Souls”. And remember; you are a part of the world and the world is inside of you.

A smooth and meditative design makes you feel emotionally calm plus the visual look attracts you like a strong magnet. And there’s no thought to own the car, you wish to merge into it like a balanced creature. The whole construction of the model creates an infinite loop, like the impulse in the nervous system. With lightning speed, it connects all the details in the ideal image of the sacred connection between Eywa and the Na’Vi tribe. VISION AVTR is a radical point of view, it is a demonstration of philosophical thinking and organic design. To my mind, everybody could find in this car some features that correspond to their lifestyle, interests, and aspirations.

The control center has no mechanic details such as steering wheel or any buttons: the whole system relates only to your feelings and biometric condition. Inside the car, it seems that everything is combined in a special way to show the balance of the organic form of seats and minimalism of the remote center. The control center is a symbol for the Soul Tree which feels you and recreates your feelings on the display.

Moreover, we shouldn’t forget about the eco-friendly concept, that’s why VISION AVTR’s interior is enhanced with the help of the DINAMICA® vegetarian leather made from specially recycled material from clothing, fabrics, and plastic bottles.

The tech specs of the VISION AVTR

The innovative construction includes all the latest technological developments in electric actuators. Like on the edge of the razor, engineers have avoided contradictory ‘eco-features’ of electric batteries and they have designed a revolutionary battery technology which works on the chemistry of organic elements based on graphene, this fact completely crosses out the use of rare, toxic, and valuable minerals. More compost to the God of compost, the technology is 100% recyclable.

VISION AVTR sets a new benchmark for the EQ Power range with a total engine output of more than 350 kW. As a bonus perk, the capacity of the battery is up to 1200 W/I and as a result, the car provides a driver with a distance of more than 700 kilometers.

Wrapping up

Who would have thought that such a philosophical input could create a real masterpiece? To my mind, it is a separate creature; a living organism that connects you with the outside world. The result is impressive, a speechless atmosphere reigned in the hall, but only one question springs up in my head. Relating to the fact that this concept could go on sale in 2050, tell me what about the trend to want flying cars? It creates a feeling of retro-futurism. But, the concept still is the best thing we saw at CES 2020.
