Google could reveal more details about its smart speaker Google Home 2 at the “Hey Google” smart home event. It’s about time we got to see something new; it’s been four years since the first model of Google Home was launched.

According to 9to5Google’s source, Google Home 2 has got the codename “Prince”. I like the way TechRadar has made a parallel between the codename and possible upgrades. They’ve said that Prince stands for the musician which corresponds to a highlighted attention to bump up audio quality.

Google has changed the format for the company’s annual Google I/O conference. The event will be on July 8, where Google promises to uncover details for smart home developers.

[Update] Google has cancelled  I/O 2020: “Out of concern for the health and safety of our developers, employees, and local communities — and in line with recent “shelter in place” orders by the local Bay Area counties — we sadly will not be holding I/O in any capacity this year.”

Google has integrated the vast majority of its smart home gadgets under the one entire system of Google Nest, aiming to make them connectable with the Nest series of smart thermostats, alarms, and security cameras. Here we get the logical conclusion that the new Google Assistant could become a part of the Nest family.
