We`ve all been using Tweeter a lot lately, following the protests in support of the Black Lives Matter movement around the world. Even though some of the posts were all about anger and fear, a lot of them were spreading hope and were definitely worths sharing. Yet, how do you share them with someone who doesn`t use Twitter?

Jason Cipriani shared some of the useful tools and easy steps on how to download and save the videos posted on Twitter to your computer, Android phone, iPhone, or iPad in his article for cnet

Here`s what you have to do.

Download Twitter videos to your computer

There are two main websites you can use to download any video posted on Twitter easily. They are SaveTweetVid and TwitterVideoDownloader

They work pretty much in the same way. All you need to do is:

  • open a Twitter website
  • copy the direct link to the tweet with the video you aim to save
  • paste it into the text field on either site
  • click download.

Using the SaveTweetVid you`ll need to choose one of three different quality options. Press the Download button next to the size of the file you want to save and the video will automatically begin downloading. If you want to save it on your phone or tablet, there`s the QR code at the bottom of the page which you can scan to download the file.

Similarly to SaveTweetVid, TwitterVideoDownloader also offers you different quality options. Choose the one you need and save the video simply clicking on the Download button right next to the video quality.

Save Twitter videos onto your phone with any Android

To get a video off the internet and stored on your Android phone, there’s a perfectly named app you need to get. Download Twitter Videos is the app to look for so you can keep videos you see forever.

The free version of the app has ads, and you upgrade to get rid of the apps for 99 cents.

Once installed, you need to open it up and go to your settings. You can set it so that you download the video in the highest resolution possible and to start the download automatically when you paste the link into the app or share the video with the app.

After Download Twitter videos is good to go, you need to go into the Twitter app and pick a tweet that’s got a video that you want to save to your device. Tap Share and you get the option to Copy link to Tweet or Share Tweet via. For a copied link, come out of the Twitter app, open the Download Twitter Videos app, and paste the link into the screen where there’s space for a URL.

When choosing to share the Tweet, look for the icon for Download Twitter Video in your sharing options. As soon as you select the icon the app will start the video download whilst you continue to scroll through Twitter.

You can view the download through the app – open it up and simply select the video to be able to watch it. It’s shareable through other apps, you can save it to Photos, and even upload it to your chosen cloud storage provider.

If you`re an iPhone owner use Apple’s Shortcuts app

If you haven`t tried Apple’s Shortcuts app yet, it`s definitely worth checking out. It offers numerous ways to automate routine tasks or even download videos from Twitter. Here`s what you should do.

  • Get the Shortcuts app from the AppStore on your iPhone or iPad in order to install the Shortcut that downloads videos.
  • Go to the Settings app on your phone or tablet and opt for the Shortcuts among the other options. Make sure to turn the Allow Untrusted Shortcuts on. You`ll get the user-created Shortcuts that aren’t listed in the Gallery section of the Shortcuts app installed.
  • Follow this link on your iPhone or iPad and tap Get Shortcut. You`ll open the Shortcut app and see everything the task does. Simply scroll to all the way to the bottom and tap on the red button labeled Add Untrusted Shortcut.

Jason also recommends to check out on the ShortcutsGallery.com, where he found this particular shortcut. This resource also contains a bunch of other user-created Shortcuts that are worth checking out, once you get an app.

Finally, here`s how you can save a Twitter Video to your Photos app. Go to the Twitter app and find the tweet with the video you aim to save. Tap on the Share button, and the Twitter Video Downloader V2.6 will pop up among the other options. Tap on it and you`ll get the video saved.

The Shortcut will open and you’ll get 3 different quality options to choose from: high, medium, or low. Make your choice and get your video saved in your Photos app.
