It’s relatively cheap and the size is relatively small if we compare it with other smartphones. Yes, Apple has finally declared the coming of the new iPhone SE, but “new” isn’t really suitable here. The phone costs $399 for the cheapest 64GB storage version, while there are three possible variants, namely 128GB and 256GB. I should note that all the rumors, predictions, and horoscopes told us to expect the same size and design as for the iPhone 8.

Here it is; the new model has a 4.7-inch widescreen LCD Multi‑Touch display with IPS technology, 1334×750-pixels, and a design that corresponds to the iPhone 6, 7 and 8. It seems very much as though that’s not by mistake, maybe such a variant of the looks comes down to the people’s comments and preferences.

Imagine holding an iPhone 8 in your hand, but it’s iPhone SE and every shop assistant will tell you how wonderful it is. The new model has a lower price tag and its technical features don’t match up to it. The iPhone SE has Apple’s A13 Bionic chip which has been transmitted from its siblings, the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro. And it makes sense because the life-time without lags or any glitches will be the same as for Apple’s flagship models.

A single camera on the back of the phone is trying its hand at two roles: a portrait camera and a regular one. It’s a single, 12MP sensor and in combination with the A13 chip; it can make next-generation, smart HDR photos. Unfortunately, the camera hasn’t got the potential to shoot in 8K, which is no wonder, but it still supports 4K video at 60fps and provides a “cinematic” stabilization feature. The selfie camera has got a 7MP lens and has a portrait mode, too.

Probably, some of you would expect the new phone to have Touch ID and Face ID at the same time, but these two parallel lines will never be crossed. To my mind, it’s the path back to the origins of the first iPhone SE. It’s neither good nor bad. However, some people might find it easier to use, including me.

You’re able to choose from 3 color variants: black, white and Product Red; the same red color but with another name.

Charging features are the same as for the iPhone 8, but with a little bonus – the iPhone SE has a wireless charging which works with Qi chargers.
