GeForce RTX 3080 is the fresh GPU from Nvidia. Rumors and leaks surround the most anticipated of devices, so Nvidia’s novelty obviously met the same fate. Nvidia uses its new Ampere architecture to show off the best of their RTX 3080 so it can one-up the RTX 2080 and 2080 Ti cards, adding ray-tracing support.

Nvidia promises that the RTX 3080 will do double the same things the RTX 2080 used to do. It’ll also reach a higher speed than the RTX 2080 Ti card did. There’ll be one option available for purchase and it’s a 10GB of GDDR6X memory with a price tag $699. You can buy a new GPU starting from September 17. According to The Verge’s original article, the company uses 8,704 CUDA cores on the RTX 3080, together with a 1.7Ghz boost clock. 

Nvidia also empowered their device with a new thermal design. The new design promises to better regulate the air circulation with the help of a new combination of a cooling shroud and a pennant-shaped board. Such construction will help to omit some limits that you could discuss using the RTX 2080.

There’s a dual-fan setup which increases the airflow by 55%, and also diminishes the van-like sound. 

Nvidia also refused to use two traditional, eight-pin connectors. Instead, the company will use a new 12-pin connector on its RTX 3000 cards. But, the company hasn’t left people with nothing; they added an adapter compatible with eight-pin cables with its Founders and Edition cards. Nvidia sacrificed the number of connectors because the 12-pin connector saves more space for components and cooling. 

Besides, there’s more delicious news – the company is also launching the budget version of the card: RTX 3070 with a price of $499 in October. Even though the RTX 3070 is cheaper than the RTX 3080, it can still provide you with 1440p. The design of the cooling system for the cheaper model will be equal. Nvidia’s RTX 3070 will be available at some point in October, priced at $499. Nvidia is using 5,888 CUDA cores on the RTX 3080, combined with a 1.71Ghz boost clock and 8GB of GDDR6 memory.
