Previously Sony has announced the DualSense controller for the upcoming next-gen console PS5. But now, the curtains are down and we can have a look at the console by its very nature. I should notice that Sony has revealed TWO versions of the upcoming console: a console with an Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive and a PlayStation®5 Digital Edition without the disc drive. Perhaps, there will be the same story with disc part as with the headphone jack, but we should concentrate on design details of the console, let’s move on.

Hands-on PS5 trailer and images

The design of the PS5 resembles a half-open book, with blue glowing light on the top where the vent system is situated. Sony has put its console in a vertical position which means there will be a supporting fixture in the box. Such as Xbox Series X, developers of the PS5 has made a huge accent on how the heat will be circulating in the console, so it is logical if the new Sony’s console will have only a vertical position option. But no, Sony has confirmed that PS5 can be laid both horizontally and vertically.

There are no details about the dimensions of the console yet. But, if we put PS5 and PS4 Pro together and regarding USB-port size, we will see that the new console will be slightly bigger.

Look at the USB-port size to see the possbile size.

There is no point to keep more secrets, so Sony has also revealed a bunch of accessories for PS5: a Pulse 3D wireless headset, an HD camera, a media remote, and a DualSense charging station that allows charging for two controllers.
