Get ready for the come back of the classic arcade-style Ninja Turtle action. According to The Verge game publisher Dotemu, who is known for Scott Piligrim vs. The World: Game and Streets of Rage 4, announced TNMT: Shredder’s Revenge. The idea of the game came from the classic TNMT brawlers together with the early ‘90s hit Turtles in Time.

Gamers will dive into the old fashioned pixel world based on the formal 1987 character design. Also you can team-up with your friends through the co-op mode up to four players.

Also, for some reason, Mike Patton is here to sing the classic theme song in the debut trailer. Here’s the basic setup for the game, which looks to span a huge range of classic TMNT locales:

With Bebop and Rocksteady assaulting Channel 6 and stealing super gnarly devices to support Krang and Shredder’s latest twisted plan, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge sees the Turtles battling across a righteous range of timeless TMNT locations. From Manhattan and Coney Island, to city rooftops and dank sewers, help the fearsome foursome trounce Foot Soldiers, Triceraton Warriors, and Rock Troops all the way to Dimension X!

From the video footage it is not clear enough on how the game will deliver the classical atmosphere, though the graphical side shows that developers make every effort. TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge will be a joint work of two studios Dotemu and the developer of the cult hit TMNT game that launched on the Game Boy Advance.

The clear date of the release is still absent but Dotemu remarks that the game will be available for both PC and consoles.
