Somehow, Microsoft has avoided numerous rumors on condition that the company had revealed the Surface Duo design in October. The device has got two separate 5.6-inch OLED displays but when you connect them together you will get a 8.1-inch big display. It doesn’t work the same way as foldable phones because it has got a hinge right between two screens, giving the opportunity to use normal Gorilla Glass.

The Surface Duo has got only one camera, which covers main camera and selfie camera tasks. It has an f/2.0 aperture and an 11-megapixel sensor with a “super zoom” up to 7x. I don’t want to leave a blank comment, though the camera specs are not even close to impressive. However, it still can record 4K and 1080p videos both at 30fps and 60fps. Besides, due to the interesting placement, the smartphone looks like a very tiny laptop.

The telephone doesn’t have a 5G support, maybe because of conspiracy theories around Bill Gates. Joking. You are always welcome to use LTE… Also, the smartphone is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, has 6GB of RAM ,and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Microsoft has decided to divide the battery so that both screens have got it. However, two batteries doesn’t mean that the lifetime is bigger. The Surface Duo has 3577mAh of capacity, which is inferior to flagship phones from other companies, for example, Samsung’s single-screen Note 20 Ultra has got 4500mAh of power. Microsoft notes that the phone should hold a 15.5 hour battery charge of local video playback, if you forgot it enabled it on your sofa for example: for ten days – it’ll be alive.

Yeah, this phone isn’t the right one to choose if you want to cheat during your exams or somewhere else, but Windows and devices chief Panos Panay said in a press briefing that “it’s probably one of the sexiest devices we’ve ever built.”

Also, Panay believes that the two screen smartphone is a crucial point in the phone constructing sphere. He said, “I believe that two screens are coming, I think they’re needed.” It’ll be interesting what comes next, as the example we can see how foldable phones are catching every opportunity to stay in the market (thank you Samsung). Besides, two screens is a new part of evolution so we shouldn’t miss this construction out of our considerations.

We should wait for the release right now, so that we can make a comment on the comparability of the price and specs the Surface Duo has.
